Catalina 30 Gallery

March 2018 I installed a 9.9 EFI Suzuki long shaft engine on my 1980 Catalina 30 sailboat. Hull #1620. The purpose of this was that the 30 year old engine model 5411 had seen it’s better days. The coast to overhaul the engine and every other component needed to make it work and be safe was more than the value of the boat. The price for a new engine and kicker plate was less than just the engine overhaul.

Below are some photos of the installation.

Suzuki 9.9 installed with fuel line. Engine control cables and electrical still to be installed.
Control cables and electrical wiring completed.
Installed kicker plate as per instructions.
